Diesel is the second of our sons of the superior male, Camelot Tor, now offered for stud duties (see also Arcady Tarantino). His test mating at 21 months of age produced a pregnancy confirmed by veterinary ultrasound. Diesel now has a number of other pregnancies established and is working very keenly. Tor has won numerous Supreme Championships over several years and is also sire of Junior Champion at the AAA National Show in 2008, from his first crop of crias, plus the highest priced animal in the 2008 AAA National Auction. Tor himself was the highest priced animal in the 2006 AAA National Auction selling for over $120,000. Tor's stud fee alone is almost $2000. Tor continues to win Championships, including Supreme at repeated Canberra Royals and age group Championships at consecutive National Shows. Diesel's dam, Arcady Dior, was a successful young show animal herself, and has produced several fleece and lead class champions, most notably Arcady Zegna, now a successful sire based in NZ. Dior's first son, Arcady Mambo, and then Zegna, her 3rd son, each won the Supreme Champion fleece award at the Royal Adelaide Show, 2 years apart. Dior retains a superbly lustrous and soft fleece into older age, with fine micron and low SD. She is extremely fertile and a most reliable breeder and great mother. Diesel is a perfectly conformed, compact male with good bone and excellent muscularity. He has fleece density, fineness, low SD and a well-defined, high amplitude crimp style. He does have some white on his muzzle and lower front legs (visible in pics). There is an element of smokiness about Diesel's otherwise golden fawn fleece, and we believe he may produce rose greys, especially to silver females. We are currently trying him over a variety of colours (progeny not due until end of 2010 into 2011). 1st fleece midside sample tested 19.5u mean, 4.06u SD, 20.8% CV, Spin Fineness of 19.0u and a Comfort Factor of 99.15% (NEFT P/L, OFDA 100) 2nd fleece big midside sample tested 20.9u mean, 4.0u SD, 19.1% CV, Spin Fineness of 20.1u and CF of 98.7% (NEFT P/L, OFDA 100) Diesel is pictured at 01/02/2010 and later, in May 2010.
