Shilling is an incredibly pale, even silver grey with some exceptional qualities. Both his parents are grey. His maternal grandsire is Hope Downs El Gordo. He carries the Peruvian genetics of Allin Capac and Caudillo via Shillac plus the Purrumbete genetics of Inti and Ledger's Dream (via El Gordo's s sire, Shanbrooke Elite). He has very heavy bone and perfect, very solid conformation. His fleece coverage is superior but without undesirable facial and foot muffling. He grows an exceptional length of staple all over, with neck and leg fibre being very long too. His first fleece weighed 4kgs for 12 months growth. His second fleece weighed 5.3kgs for 12 months growth. He has large testes carried in loose scrotum. His temperament is second to none ! He is exceptionally placid to handle. His dam also has an extremely pleasant, placid nature. He proved fertile very young, achieving his first pregnancies when test-mated at just over 17 months of age. He is NOT superfine with his boldly crimping 2nd fleece at age 18 months, testing 23.4u, 5.0u SD, CV 21.3% and spin fineness 22.8u (Micron Man OFDA 2000 midside). However his sire was superfine in his first 2 fleeces and his dam was about 20u with an exceptional SD of 3.7u at 13 months old. We believe that Shilling has lots to offer especially for finer-boned, fine micron females needing improvement in overall appearance, physical structure, fertility/maturity and fleece length production. Remember that the first criterion for fleece valuation in any micron range is length length length !! Shilling's first drop of crias arrived in 2009. They have his beautiful nature and strong frames. Fleece length has been increased in comparison to their dams, and micron was fine > very fine at first shearing. He had been mated mostly to fawn or browns who had a grey parent but the progeny has thrown to the mother's colour, or even darker, which was a surprise.
